where can I find reasonable items for scrapbooking?
WHATEVER M asked:
I am looking to get involved in scrapbooking and giving them out as presents in the near future…could someone please suggest a place to purchase items for a reasonable price, I have been ordering most of my items off HSN, but not sure too much of the turn-around- time, but wish to go shopping near by without shopping online.

make your own or try Michael’s or similar craft stores, or, of course, ebay!

Depending where you live and the stores available - Try Hobby Lobby, Michaels, Wal-Mart, Target, Office Depot most if not all craft stores carry scrapbooking supplies.

hobby lobby. they have really great stuff. as for michaels, i dont go there much (there isnt one near me), but i think they’re pretty good too. If you want really inexpensive, but some nice paper, some fancy hole punches, a couple pairs of fun scissors, and make your own. I make cards (you know, happy birthday, merry christmas, etc), and all i have is some card paper and my imagination, and a few handy tools, like the ones i suggested for you. good luck! if you find anything really awesome, let me know!

If you have a Big Lot’s near you, they have discounted scrapbooking materials. Also look in the dollar bins at drug stores, discount stores, etc. Get children’s stickers at dollar stores. Find things in you environment you can use. I went to Canada last summer for vacation. I saved some tourist maps and cut them into sections and used them for backgrounds to my photos. I had small flags I bought when my husband got his citizenship. I unstapled one from the pole and used it in my photo album. Things like that are free and/or cheap. When I started doing photo albums of my kids I wanted to keep it cheap. I refuse to pay overly inflated prices for paper and stickers from some frilly store.

The Dollar store actually has a few good scrapbooking things, but they go quickly and you have to check regularly. Michael’s as almost everything (and in almost every Sundays newspaper there is a 40% off any one reg priced item coupon) Walmart and Target also both carry scrapbooking items, although they have a smaller selection than Michael’s. Also try to find a specailty scrapbooking store in your area. They often have better deals and you can find things you can’t at other stores. You can look it up on the yahoo local search and see if anything comes up!

Dollarama is the best store for scrapbooking supplies, if you have one in your neighborhood.
