My father was in the USMC in 1976-1979. I am trying to make a scrapbook of his service. This is really difficult because he passed away. I have requested his military personnel file and all of his medals, ribbons and rewards. I have received his Report of Separation (there is not much information on it.) I would like to try to find people that might have known him on Military.com but I do not know what division he was in…He had two specialties ~ 0311 Rifleman ~ 8621 SurvSensoOper. Can anyone tell me what divisions those would be? Am I getting ahead of myself…would this information be in his personnel file? Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.
It does state his last duty assignment which was HqCo HqBn 1stMarDiv, Camp Pen ~ Can you translate that???
